TDC 125: Game of Logging, Levels 1 & 2 for Educators

Who Should Attend?
Any high school Career and Technical Education, Ag Ed, or Tech Ed teacher who wants to increase their skills in logging fundamentals and secure documentation from the Game Of Logging program for Levels 1 & 2.

What Are the Workshop Objectives?
Created by Soren Eriksson, the world’s premier logging expert, the Game of Logging offers hands on training to forest industry professionals, landowners, college students, and teachers. Top instructors across the country combine demonstration with participation to teach safety, productivity, conservation, and cutting techniques. Participants finishing this course will receive documentation of receiving Game of Logging’s Level 1 & 2 training, as well as 16 hours of inservice that can apply for fulfilling Act 48 requirements.

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to do the following:
1. Describe open face felling.
2. Describe and use proper personal protective equipment for logging.
3. Describe and use chainsaw safety features.
4. Describe and explain the consequences of chainsaw reactive forces.
5. Perform bore cutting.
6. Pre-plan and fell trees.
7. Describe hinge wood strength
8. Describe and perform basic chainsaw maintenance including carburetor setting and filing techniques.
9. Perform basic limbing and bucking techniques.
10. Describe the dangers of spring poles and procedures for cutting them.
11. Pre-plan and fell additional trees.

The hours of this workshop can apply for fulfilling your Act 48 requirements. Partial Act 48 hours will not be granted. Lunches during class days will be provided.

Note:
There is no charge for this workshop to any participant. All participants must pay for travel, lodging (if necessary) and additional meals. There are a limited number of seats available. To attend, submit the registration form on the back of this sheet via fax or mail.
